Last year, 2007, saw the 300th anniversary of the birth of Carl Linnaeus, Sweden's most outstanding scientist of all time. This website was created to celebrate the immense Linnaean legacy which can be seen not only in Sweden's rich tradition of scientific discovery but also in our attitudes and values.
Linnaeus300 discusses the big questions about the wonders of life on Earth and it focuses on the wealth of pioneering work that's going on today in Sweden's research environments. The 52 popular-science questions were originally published one each week throughout the anniversary year.
